The Job 464 – VSB Jeceaba, MG celebrated the achievement of significant milestones and objectives, such as: maintaining the ISO 9001 quality system, the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certificates, production targets, and reaching the milestone of 6,200,000 MAN-HOURS without lost time accidents.

Engineer Denilson Martins believes the commitment and integration of the entire team made all the difference in terms of these achievements.

Mascarenhas Barbosa Roscoe S.A. – The construction company received the ISO 14001 certificate from the certifying entity, Bureau Veritas Certification. This certificate is official recognition from an international body on the effectiveness of our Environmental Management System.

The result was achieved by the staff’s total commitment to meeting the required environmental objectives and targets, which involved reducing the use of paper, wood, plastics, and other products; proper waste disposal; wastewater treatment; controls to prevent chemical leaks, and a number of other actions.

This certification completes the Integrated Management System, based on ISO 9001, PBQP-H, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 norms.

MBR efforts concerning the health, safety, and welfare of its employees was recognized by SECONCI – Rio and SINDUSCON-RJ, which, since 2006, have awarded companies that stand out in health and safety management.

Mascarenhas Barbosa Roscoe received the Bronze trophy and certificate as a result of initiatives implemented at its job in the Regional Rio de Janeiro, represented by TKCSA in the Santa Cruz district, Rio’s West Zone.

MBR received the Vitae-Rio Award on November 24, 2010, at the Sul América Convention Center. Journalist Renata Capucci from Globo TV presented the festivities, which included the participation of the state’s leading construction companies. Before the trophies and certificates were handed out, Dr. Sergio Besserman Vianna gave a speech about the difficulties and challenges faced by construction in the pursuit of sustainable development.

Attending the event and representing MBR were Engineers Juarez Paulinelli, Fernando Jorge Ferrão Almeida, and Daniel Seabra de Almeida.

Having its systems recognized by an official body demonstrates Mascarenhas’s commitment to being a sustainable company that is concerned with the safety and health of its employees and contractors and has its customers as the main focus for its business.

MBR is once more nationally prominent in the latest edition of the annual “Money’s Best”, published this month by the magazine Isto é Dinheiro.

More than 500 of the nation’s largest companies were assessed according to their economic sectors, with MBR occupying the 4th place in Financial Sustainability in the Engineering, Construction, and Real Estate segment.

This recognition once again attests to MBR’s excellence in managing and administrating its contracts and financial resources.

Each year, the magazine Mercado Comum (Common Market) publishes its ranking “The Best and Biggest Companies in Minas”.

In this year’s edition, Mascarenhas Barbosa Roscoe occupied the 16th place among the Biggest Companies for Return on Equity.

On August 10th, the magazine O Empreiteiro and engineering sector entities held its Formal Awards Presentation for the 500 Biggest Companies in Construction.

This year, Mascarenhas deservedly received an award for its social project in recognition of its actions and commitment to improving the quality of life of its employees, partners, and society in general.

After undergoing a thorough audit, Mascarenhas’s Occupational Safety and Health Management System was recommended for certification on July 30, 2010.

The documentation will be reviewed by the Bureau Veritas Certification, the institution responsible for issuing the certificate in accordance with the OHSAS 18001:2007 norm covering the following scope: building construction and large- and medium-sized industrial and commercial construction, works of art (bridges and overpasses), and sanitation.

On september 30, happened in Belo Horizonte / MG, the fourth edition of Wolrd’s Citizens Award, organized by the newspaper Hoje em Dia, through the 6th National Meeting of the Third Sector.

On this occasion, the winners were awarded and all registered participants were honored for their efforts to the sustainable development and well being of society. MBR, through the Viva Project, received a Honorable Mention Certificate in the category Corporate Social Responsibility.

This honor is an indication that MBR is on the development for a fair society.

The FDL – Fundação Dom Cabral , in partnership with Diário do Comércio, made the second edition of José Costa Award, in Belo Horizonte.

The purpose of the award is to honor companies and executives that contribute to the development of Minas Gerais, value the enterprising spirit, focused on a better and sustainable world.

In the Construction category, competing with large companies, MBR was the awarded company.
